Abstract:
This study is aimed to examine the effect of organizational politics on Job performance in North North
West region of Ethio Telecom with reference to employees. The way this plays out in an organizational
context involves actions that individuals or groups take to promote their own interests over those of the
organization. This will be critical since these behaviors can have a very vast effect on the motivation,
satisfaction, and performance of employees. Data was collected via structured survey questionnaire,
which was administered to a representative sample North North West region of Ethio Telecom
employees, and the research approach is quantitative. The study was used simple random sampling
where, by taking 210 employees from the total number of North North West region of Ethio Telecom’s
439 who are in different departments. It enhances extant literature on organizational behavior by
empirically determining the dual nature of workplace politics. Data analysis was employed both
descriptive and inferential statistics through SPSS Software version 25. The overall perception of
political behavior significantly enhances job performance. The Organizational Justice and Fairness
(OJF) model presents varying effects both positively and negatively on job performance and the overall
Perceived Political Climate is borderline significant, suggesting a potential weak positive effect of
overall political climate on job performance. The Organization should establish transparent policies for
decision-making, promotions, and resource allocation to minimize perceptions of favoritism and bias.
Clear communication about promotion criteria and equitable reward distribution can enhance
organizational justice perceptions.
