Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to assess the factors that affect practices of corporate social
responsibility in Dashen brewery S.C. Descriptive and explanatory research design and a
quantitative research approach were employed. A questionnaire was used as data gathering
tools. Simple random sampling technique was used and a total of 225 sample respondents were
involved for the study. CSR was used as dependent variables. Labor pressure, community
enforcement, consumer protection, social license, and profitability and sustainability were the
explanatory variables used in this study. Data was collected from employees and the official
website of the Dashen brewery S.C. The collected data was analyzed and interpreted using
descriptive (using percentage, and frequency, mean scores) and inferential statistics(using
Pearson Correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression). Adjusted R-square value of the
study was 0.587. The finding of the research showed that labor pressure, consumer protection,
social license, and profitability and sustainability are significant determinants of CSR, while
community enforcement is not significant determinant of CSR practice. Therefore, this study
suggests to manufacturing companies to consider the identified evidence of determinant factors
of CSR so as to take actions in order to improve CSR implementation.
