dc.description.abstract Abstract Introduction:Drug interaction Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess potential drug interactions, associated factors and potential risks of major potential drug interactions in patients visiting the chronic outpatient department ( Methods: A hospital based cross-sectional study was conducted at UoGCSH from June 03 to July 05, 2019. Data were collected from interview,prescription and patient chart review. Then data were entered and analyzed using SPSS version 20. Binary logistic regression analysis was done. A P-value<0.05 at 95% CI of the multivariable analysis was considered significant. Results: A total of 403 study participants were included in the analysis. The prevalence of potential drug-drug interaction Conclusion and recommendations: Prevalence of pDDI and pDDisI were high compared to most studies. Factors associated with them were: pDDI and pDDisI associated each other, number of drugs per patient, type of drug and disease as well as comorbidity Keywords: drug-drug interaction, drug-disease interaction, Gondar, Ethiopia en_US
