ABSTRACT
Introduction: Community based health insurance
Objective: To assess Household members’ satisfaction towards community based
health insurance and its Associated factors in Habru District, Northeast Ethiopia,
2020.
Method: Community based Crossectional study design was conducted in Habru
District, Northeast Ethiopia, from February 1/2020 to March 30/2020 on CBHI
members. The total study participants were 554. Multistage stratified sampling
procedure was used to select the study participants Spot checks on the quality of
data collection were made in the field and completed questionnaires were checked
daily. Data were checked for its completeness before entering for analysis. The
collected data then entered to EPIDATA software and exported to statically package
for social science
Result: The study participants’ were 554 with response rate of 100%.This study
showed that 78.88% of the households were satisfied towards CBHI scheme.
Household members’ satisfaction towards CBHI was positively associated with
Family size
5.87, 95% CI = 3.77–9.17
Conclusion and recommendation: This study showed that the overall patients'
satisfaction towards CBHI was good. Family size, Permitted health facility, Lab &
diagnostic service, Health professionals approach and Health service quality after
initiation of CBHI were significantly associated with satisfaction towards CBHI.
However, there is the need for the government and CBHI scheme to continuously
improve on the provision of healthcare services and address areas of dissatisfaction.
