Abstract:
Background-Extra pulmonary tuberculosis describe a TB case that affects organs other than the lungs, such as the meninges, pleura, lymph nodes, belly, genitourinary system, skin, joints, and bones.. The site that best represents the most severe form of the disease determines the case definition for an EPTB case involving several afflicted sites.To describe treatment outcomes and associated factors with treatment outcome among EPTB patients in health centers at Gondar, Northwest Ethiopia, 2023.
Method-: An institutional based cross-sectional study was employed at Gondar health centers from July1 to August 30, 2023. Data were collected from patient’s medical record. Data entry was done using Epi data 3.1 and analyzed using STATA software version 17. Bivariable and multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to determine the association between the independent variables and treatment outcome.
Result- A total of four hundred twenty two extra pulmonary patients were enrolled, among them 41.7% were male and 58.3% were female .Being female Sex(AOR:1.68,CI=1.01-2.80), coinfection of HIV(AOR:2.94,CI=1.04-8.27),DM(AOR:4.69,CI=1.20 18.2) and being young Age(AOR:3.01,CI=1.51-6.02), were significantly associated with Poor treatment outcome EPTB.
Conclusion and Recommendation-- In the present study, the magnitude of poor treatment outcome of extra pulmonary tuberculosis was high. Being female sex,having Diabetes mellitus,

HIV positive and young age were significant predictors for poor treatment outcomes among EPTB patients. Early identify and give emphasized treatment and care for EPTB patients with younger age, female gender, diabetes, HIV, and kidney disease, Health care facilities ,Regional Health Bureaus and Ministry of Health and Scientific Communities.
