Abstract
Ethiopia's crop
based agriculture remains crucial, yet many smallholder and subsistence
farmers lack effective irrigation i ntegration. This study aimed to identify factors influencing
irrigation agriculture productivity in Dembia district, G ondar Central, Amhara Region. I am
collected data from 181 smallholder households using a two phase random sampling method
and structur ed questionnaires. The descriptive statistics and multiple linear regressions
revealed that organic fertilizers, crop practices, and irrigation methods are key determinants
of crop yields. Findings highlight the need for improved irrigation infrastructure, be tter input
supply, and enhanced cultivation practices. High farmland ownership correlates with better
productivity, while low storage utilization and gaps between farmers' fertilizer use and expert
advice indicate post harvest management issues.
Result
Acc ording to the multiple regression analysis, irrigated farming's crop productivity is
greatly impacted by a number of factors, including: With a coefficient of 36.177 and a
significance level of 1%, the size of irrigated land has the most significant positi ve impact on
output, suggesting that increasing irrigation land increases productivity. Productivity is
positively impacted by family size (B = 3.352, p = 0.008), emphasizing the importance of
labor from larger families. Experience in Irrigation: Significa nt at 5% (B = 0.457, p = 0.034),
demonstrating experienced farmers have better water management skills. Strongly positive
impact (B = 1.822, p = 0.000) for extension services highlights the importance of efficient
agricultural support networks. Pest and We ed Management
Recommendation
In irrigated farming, the multiple linear regression models recommends
the following tactics to boost crop productivity: Increase Irrigated Land: The most significant
factor indicates that increasing the area of irrigated land has a significant positive impact on
production.
The responsible body is the Ministry of Agricul ture, Irrigation Authorities. Promote larger
families in Arming: family size has a beneficial effect on productivity. Utilizing family
projects is crucial.

Farmer Experience with Irrigation Water management training is crucial since experience
greatly increases productivity. The organizations that have responsibility are farmer
cooperatives and agricultural training institutes. Institutes and farmer cooperatives are the ac
countable bodies. Strengthen Extension Services: Productivity is significantly impacted by
agricultural extension services. Enhanc e words :
