IMPROVING PATIENT SATISFACTION WITH ANTI-RETROVIRAL THERAPY SERVICES IN DANGILA HEALTH CENTER, AWIE ZONE, NORTHWEST ETHIOPIA

Abstract

Abstract Background: Patient satisfaction is a primary means of measuring the effectiveness of healthcare delivery. Patients have explicit desires for quality services when they visit health institutions. However, inadequate discovery of their needs may result in patient dissatisfaction. Objective; To improving patient satisfaction with Anti-retroviral therapy services in D/H/C, Awie zone, North West, Ethiopia. Methods: - A facility based pre-post intervention design was conducted from March to December 2016. Simple random sampling technique was used to get a total of 298 ART patients. Data was collected using pretested, structured and interviewer administered questionnaire, and it was analyzed using SPSS version 20.Descriptive data analysis & Independent t-test was used. Results: The overall ART patient’s satisfaction in health care services rendered at Dangila health center was 93.3%. Majority of the respondents were satisfied with the providers’ courtesy/respect 291 Conclusion: The overall patient satisfaction in the health center was high. This capstone has also identified Availability of ordered laboratory procedures and Waiting time before seeing a health officer related for patient’s satisfaction towards antiretroviral treatment service. . Recommendations; Dangila health center management bodies should give attention to the continuity of improves their patient satisfaction. Capstone projectors need to conduct further research by adding different explanatory variable like attitude and expectation of the patient about the problem.
