dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT Introduction Work-related musculoskeletal disorders progressive increase through time both developed and developing countries and it is a cause of severe long-term pain and physical disability. This problem brings socio economic burden to workers due to direct and in direct costs. In Ethiopia, most of the studies regarding to WMSDs focused on manufacturing and construction sectors workers. However, in our country the prevalence and associated factors of WMSDs among bank workers is poorly understand, compared with other computing risk population. Objective: To assess prevalence of work related musculoskeletal disorders and associated factors among Bank workers, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 2018. Methods: Institution based cross-sectional study design was used. Multi stage sampling techniques was employed to select 838 bank workers from 62 banks in Addis Ababa. Self-administered standard Nordic questionnaires was used and Binary logistic regrestion were used to identify factors associated with WMSDs. Result: Out of 838 total numbers of participants, 755 bank workers were returned questionnaires making with a response rate of 90%. Of these , 586 (77.6%) suffered WMSDs with a 95%CI [75%-81%]. The most affected body region were LBP (54.3%), SP (40.9%), NP (38%) and UBP (35.4%). The final multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that being female [AOR=2.98, 95%CI: 1.91-4.65], sitting back twisted [AOR=3.597, 95%CI: 2.13-6.08], sitting back bent [AOR=4.06, 95%CI: 2.48-6.66], Work on static position [AOR=1.78, 95%CI: 1.17-2.71], No break off [AOR =3.33, 95%CI: 1.44-7.71], Type of chairs [AOR=2.62, 95%CI:1.19-5.75] and job stress [AOR=2.33, 95%CI:1.19-4.54] were significantly associated with WMSDs. Conclusion and recommendation: The study conclude that high prevalence of WMSDs among bank workers. The significant predictors for the occurrence of WMSDs were being female, Awakward posture, No break off ,static position, type of chairs and job stress. We recommended Bank workers should employed proper type of chairs, practice proper work posture; healthy working conditions and create awareness program how maintain health condition and to have leisure time.
