dc.description.abstract Abstract Background :Low back pain is one of the most common work related problems globally and is associated with work place absenteeism and loss in productivity, resulting in economic burdens to employers, employees and health care systems. The World Health Organization reported that low back pain is associated with work place risk factors. Low back pain affects 632.045 million people globally, according to current estimates. There is a limitted of information on low back pain among textile industry workers in Ethiopia. Objective: To assess prevalence and associated factors of work-related low back pain among textile workers in Adama city, Oromia, Ethiopia, 2021. Method: An institution based cross-sectional study was carried out from March 17 to April 17, 2021.Stratified sampling technique was used to calculate 496 study sample data were collected using a structured and interview administrated standardized Nordic questionnaire. And the data were coded and entered into Epi info versions 7 and analyzed by statistical package for social science (SPSS) windows version 20.0. Bivariable and multivariable logistic regression were used to identify important independent variables of low back pain. Results: The response rate was 93.95 %( N=466).The median age was 27 with interquartile range of 24-30, majority of respondents, 55.2 %( N=257) were female. The prevalence of work related low back pain among textile workers in the past 12 months was 49.6 %( N=231) 95%CI [44.8-54.3] and In this study age [AOR:7.09,95% CI,(2.87-17.49)], sex [AOR:3.80,95%CI,(2.05- 7.05)], working experience [AOR:2.3,95%CI, (1.27-4.20), physical exercise [AOR: 2.10, 95%CI, (1.03-4.26)],types of chair [AOR: 2.65, 95%CI, (1.39-5.05)],awkward posture[AOR:2.13,95%CI,(1.16-3.92)],were significantly associated with work related low back pain. Conclusions:- The prevalence of low back pain among textile workers in this study was high. Age, sex, work experience, physical exercise, setting chair and awkward posture were significantly associated factors with work related low back pain.
