Abstract:
Reintegration is the process by which female migrant returnees re-establishes themselves in the
society of their country of origin regarding social and economic security components. The
reintegration of female returnees into the labor market, and reinsertion into their community
members have become a significant challenge for the government of Ethiopia. The overall
objective of this research was to explore the socio-economic reintegration of female migrant
returnees in Debark town. The qualitative research design was conducted during the study to
acquire thorough and rich comprehension of the subject matter to be investigated. Based on the
study's nature and the information needed, the study area and interviewees were selected using
purposive sampling. Of a total of 586 female migrant returnees, 21 were selected to gather
required information as per the research questions stated and 21 were voluntarily and actively
interviewed. The major data collection tools were in-depth interviews, for the suitable analysis
method for qualitative data; data gathered from respondents were analyzed using the thematic
data analysis technique.
