dc.description.abstract The objective of this study was to identify leadership style and related factors among government organization in Dabat Woreda. The study consist 135(Male=99 and female =36) participants. The research design is sequential explanatory. The data was collected through questionnaires’ and interviews .Data were analysed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent sample t-test, one ANOVA and narration. The finding shows that leaders were preferred transformational, transactional laissez-faire leadership style respectively. The study showed that there is on significant mean difference in both sex t-score (1.056) = 0.293 transformational leadership style, but transactional leadership style t-score (0.385) = 0.701 and laissez fair leadership style t score (-0.034) = 0.973 are significant mean difference between both sexes The finding of the study showed that there is statistically significant mean difference in transformational leadership style F (2.108) =0.102 among leaders age group, but there is no significant mean difference in transactional F (0.287) =0.835 and laissez fair leadership style F (0.129) =0.943. The results of this study showed that there is statistically significant difference in transformational F (1.566) =0.187, transactional F (1.527) =0.198 laissez fair leadership style F (0.771) =0.546 among leaders who differ in their work experience. The finding also shows that there is significant mean difference in transformational F (1.460) =0.228, transactional F (0.960) =0.414 and laissez fair leadership style F (0.876) =0.455 among leaders in their educational level. The study shows that ideal influence, intellectual motivation, inspiration consideration, contingent rewards are the main factors for leadership in their respective organizations. This study found that while leaders prefer to use the transformational style of leadership over the transactional style, they should understand that both are necessary for directing a company to success. en_US
