dc.description.abstract All activities of living things on earth produce waste and gets different understanding and Interpretation. Thus, before considering the details of the waste problem in urban areas it is essential to define the term “waste”. Normally, waste can mean many things to different people. The general objective of this research is to look into the elements that influence solid waste management at the home level in Gondar town and Maraki sub-city. To attain this objective, the researcher employed a sample Survey design to gather and evaluate primary data using a quantitative and qualitative (mixed) research approach. The houses in the Maraki sub-city were the study's target group for the questionnaire. 397 household samples were readily chosen. A descriptive and inferential mixed research design was adopted. Methodology: A community-based cross-sectional study design was used to assess the status of improper SWM and associated factors in Gondar town Maraki sub city. Conclusion: The study finding showed that, the majority of the residents practiced improper solid waste management. Lack of adequate knowledge about solid waste management and not having access to door-to-door solid waste collection could have contributed to the reported improper solid waste practice. en_US
