Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to know the effect of women education on their socio-economic
status in Dembia district. Despite the value of education and its effect on socio economic status
women education is still a serious problem due to multiple unsuitable situations. To this end,
both primary and secondary data was collected to address the aforementioned objective.
Descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression models would be employed to examine the
effect of women education on income and fertility rate which shows positive and statistically
significant result. In Dembia district due to early marriage, girls’ usefulness on domestic work
and strong societal influence on girls leads to low performance in education. However, number
of girl students increases from time to time through different affirmative and gender sensitive
actions. Thus, through investing on women education the opportunity of women in socio economic participation increases. Moreover, rising level of education of women improves not
only their productivity at home but also the whole society through increase in family health,
child survival and investment in human capital. As the result of this research paper shows
education of women is an indispensable character and one of the most cost-effective means of
improving socio-economic status. Therefore, there must be a large investment and attention on
women education from government and different concerned bodies both financially and through
their policies and strategies to bring change on socio-economic status.
