dc.description.abstract Thisstudy wasaimedatexploringthecurrentpractices, opportunitiesandthemajor challenges ofECCEprogram inselectedAmhararegioncollegesofteachereducation(CTEs).Toattainthis, descriptivesurveyresearchdesignwasemployed.Theparticipantsofthisstudywereteachers,deansof CTEs,ECCEprogramcoordinators inAmhararegionaleducationBureauand2ndyearregularECCE Diplomatraineesoftheselectedcollegesofteachereducation.Descriptiveandinferentialstatistics wereusedtoanalyzethedataobtained fromthequestionnaire. Itwasthenfoundoutthatteachershad positiveattitudetowardsthe ECCE teachertrainingprogramfor they believe that workingwith childrenoughttobegiventopmostpriority. ThefindingsofthisstudyrevealedthattheECCEteacher trainingprogram inCTEswasnotimplementedinaccordance withtheplannedcurriculumdespite opportunities foraccesstocurricularmaterials andpolicydocuments.Factorsthataffecteffective implementation wereidentified.Continuous followupandmonitoringbytheAREBfortheprogramto besuccessfulisrecommended. en_US
