dc.description.abstract Currently squatter settlements becoming the problem of Ethiopians towns. Shewa Robit is one of the towns that affected by squatter settlements. In the town most of the houses that built in squatter settlements were substandard, unplanned and not recognize by the administration or municipality of town. In this case; the socioeconomic development of the town is negatively affected. The main objective of this study is to assess the impact of squatter settlements on the socioeconomic development of Shewa Robit town, north Shewa zone, Amahara region of Ethiopia. For this study, cross-sectional study has used involving both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. Additionally, the study used both probability and non-probability sampling techniques. From the probability sampling techniques, simple random sampling is used to select sample respondents of squatter settlements in Shewa Robit town and the sample size is 260. From non-probability purposive sampling was used to selected municipality or administration and farmers in the town. en_US
