Tourist’s Perception towards Tamil Nadu as a preferred Medical Tourism Destination

Abstract

Medical tourism is one of the fastest growing sectorwhich contributes to the world economy. Where the tourists need of medical treatments from the developed countries approaching for obtaining treatment on par with the quality with low cost services whencompare to their home nations. The study is related to the international medical tourists who want to take treatment in the corporate hospitals in Chennai city. The study is based on descriptive statistics;percentage analysis and factor analysis are used to analyze the primary data for the study purpose. The study describes the services arranged by the local hospitals to the foreign tourists in terms of treatment for their ailments and the level of consummation to the patients regarding the amenities, maintenance of the hospital, treatment, approaches of the staff with the patients. The result indicates that, the majority of the tourists are satisfied with the treatment, fees, doctors and nurse approach, accommodation, food, heritage sites, location, hospital formalities, website information and etc.
